Rainbow Makeup Style
I got the inspiration from Dior Haute Couture 2010/11 collection. I decided to try that makeup on my friend.:)

…But, I changed a lil bit in the technique of mixing color.
Instead of using two or three colors for eyeshadow on the upper eye area, I used blue and then yellow (upper eye lid area) to enhance and open the eyes since the model is Asian. With a little bit pink applied under the eye area, the eyes look impressive and “alive”.

Lady Gaga version 14 year old girl – Tavi Gevinson
She creates a colorful planet around her – I must say!
I’ve heard about this girl since last year. But I didn’t care much about this little Fashion Blogger for 2 reasons: I was not into Fashion that time…AND… she gave a messy impression for me when I looked at her mix & match.

…except her hair color – grey – and the big pink bow on her head at the Paris Haute Contour show. That reminds me about Lady Gaga and her bow made of hair.

From her style, I’m sure I am seeing the sense of Alexander Mc.Queen, Harajuku style and Lady Gaga. Definitely, she is the huge fan of Alexander Mc.Queen since many pieces of her articles were mentioned about his design.
Why people glorify her?
Even though her mix & match and entries are a bit messy, it shows her creativity as well as the knowledge that she has in Fashion Industry. She is considered as a phenomenon in Fashion. It will be very hard to find another young age girl as good as her in writing and styling.
The ideas of combining exotic colors and mix those “kiddy” garments together with vintage style or gothic/reepy pattern…soon are adopted by the people industry .They seems to be enjoying the fresh air in what Tavi has been done so far.

Some predict that she will be the second Anna Wintour in the near Future. However, there are still a lot of fashion designers do not like Tavi’s style. To them, Tavi is just a kid; her comments and creativity will die soon. “It feels like it’s happened all of a sudden and at some shows this season the front row was just all bloggers. I think it will die down though, and people know what they are doing. No one who wants to read a serious review of a show is going to look at what a 14-year-old thinks” – Christopher Kane fashion designer shared his thought with Vogue UK (Halpern, 2009).
Do I admire her?
The answer is Yes. But No!
- Yes!
- chasing after what she likes
- do not mind to spend hours updating for her blogs
- going out and taking picture herself with tons of clothes on her tiny body

- playing with colors and mixing them
I guess, that’s why they categorize her as Genius in Fashion Industry.
I guess, that’s why they categorize her as Genius in Fashion Industry.
- But No! Why? – Simple answers
She loves Fashion as what she has been sharing with the publicity. She falls for those garments, accessories, design, hair trends and colors. I don’t deny that her look book is interesting – full of colors and style. However, she does put them in all the sense of “kid” Art. Why do I say so? Because kids like colors; playing with textures; following every trend; treating what they have as toys.
What they usually say: “Have the new and forget the old”! Does she know how to appreciate the old things?
Moreover, her mix and match does bring the inspiration for others, but they never appear widely. They admire her; however, they dare not to follow her style yet. Well, in this category – so called the influences – she might learn a lot from Lady Gaga whom impressed and led people with her bizarre style.
I like the part when she talks about trendy and edgy terms. Haha!

Multi - Characteristic...Yup! That's What I am...
A year ago, I started to watch Ugly Betty. After watching this sitcom, I felt my life would not be completed without fashion, beauty, color, drama and work. Therefore, I decided to meet up those persons who had the same passion as mine and formed them into a group - called aZart.
I can say that Ugly Betty is my inspiration. The movie help me to realize what I like to do and how to make my life become meaningful. I have to thank the director, the actors, the actresses of Ugly Betty a lot...WITHOUT those amazing people who created the most wonderful sitcom film, I wouldn't never know that my characteristics are suitable to be an artist.

What Fashion is!?
Dare to ask…Dare to answer by myself.
To me Fashion is a type of art which can make you look gorgeous. In addition, this art will generate into a particular trend that would be accepted by a number of “audiences”. So what is the exact type of art that Fashion Industry concludes? The answer is – EVERYTHING. Yep, it’s everything that has the artistic sense.
Some people think that Fashion is just about garments or clothes created by fashion designers in order to satisfy the customers’ seasonal needs. Uh oh, if Fashion was really born and existed in this way, there could be no job called fashion stylist, makeup artist, personal shopper, models, photographers, etc. Why? Because the customers know exactly what they need…AND they order what they need only…not what they WANT.
Again! In my opinion, Fashion is about art from head to toe of a human being. Well, Art, of course, it can be accepted and understood universally; or, only enjoyed by those who really have the high level of artistic eyes. That’s why painters create abstract paintings.
There are 3 main areas in Fashion: high street fashion, prêt-à-porter (ready to wear) and the last one - haute couture - is compared as the abstract paintings. High street fashion, just like its name, is the casual stuff that you wear daily in any circumstances. Topshop, Forever 21, H&M and Cotton On are some well-known brands in high street fashion. Prêt-à-porter produce massively garments follow by standardized sizes. Those garments are created with high quality materials and can be formal or casual wear. Haute Couture, totally different with the other two, is clothes that are made by hand from the best brands. It’s usually produced by orders, so the number of that piece is very limited – sometimes, ONLY ONE PIECE! Chanel, YSL, Dior are some of the fashion that make haute couture, but nowadays they also produce prêt-à-porter since LOSS is the regular issue in haute couture area.
I just briefly introduce you the main categories in Fashion so that you can have the broader idea or mindset of things are involved in this industry.
Now…let me explain or tell you…the kinds of art…I am IN!
“Fashion Industry concludes? The answer is – EVERYTHING. Yep, it’s everything that has the artistic sense.” JIt is NOT ONLY…BUT ALSO
-
Fashion Photography
Look book for a collection is purposely made so that the particular brand attracts customer and sell the products. However, some other fashion photo shoots are not printed out for that reason. They are simply brought to the customers in order to introduce the new fashion trends. To attract customers’ attention, the photographers can use any technique that he wants to make the album look interesting. It’s not only portrait…but also street, lomo, snapshot, alternative, conceptual, etc.
-
Fashion Designer, Fashion Stylist, Hair Stylist, Makeup Artist, etc…
They are all setting the fashion trends and enhancing them. What trends are they? It's not only about the the Korean's natural beauty look but also the ugly pretty looks. Well, they are something that is unacceptable at the first sight, but adopted day by day from person to person. For example, Harajuku, platform shoes, Under Wraps were not easily adopted in the very first date.
First of all, surely it is the trend in clothes. Secondly, the makeup and hair trend…then the mix & match trend.
-
Model
The body shape of the models definitely creates the trend in fashion. That’s why people usually judge those girl who have long legs, big boobs, fair skin are beautiful. The influence of the model’s image is very important. Sometimes, it can kill the customers. So many cases of female audiences, who want to have the body shape like Kate Moss, Cindy or Gisele, force themselves into unscientifically diet method which bring side effects for health. The fault may come from the employers in the industry, who want to make their products look extremely perfect, hire ONLY skinny models. Recently, the show has changed. Pretty gusl are not only those body perfect shape but also Plus Size shape. - Read my previous article to understand Plus Size Models.
From 4:30, you can see the Model Scout of Versace is very satisfied with Ann’s body shape: “But perfect because she’s tall and perfect body. I will book Ann for prints and shows.” Read the comments, some audiences commented like this “ANN,Perfect body?!!? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
---------------------In general, no matter what kind of art it is, there will be always the subjective judges from individuals. Some like this, others prefer that. But, in the end of the day…the beauty is still there somewhere in the picture. I like Fashion, because of the challenges and techniques of creating the trends and insisting the customers to adopt them.

My addiction & My treasure
Fashion goes along with beauty and trend. People, especially women, they want to look good...feel food...and...smell good.
I'm a woman also...So definitely, I will do and find anything in this world which can help me to improve my appearance :))
In the world of beauty (I don't count the beauty of soul...juz simply the appearance), we assume that a woman is called PRETTY WOMAN when she has fair skin, nice body shape incorporate with outstanding clothes & accessories. True! But then....what if she stinks. Boys, will you answer me frankly...would you dare to flirt her anymore?! I doubt it...if you say YES.
When I was a little gul, I like to use my mom's perfume. That time, my mom didn't have a lot of knowledge as well as money to buy those high quality perfume. However, her taste was extremely good at odor. I still remember some special odor from cheap brands which are disappeared nowadays. What a pity!
Since last year, I've started to collect perfume...Collect those "delicious" smell to satisfy my addiction and give special impacts or create great impression to others :D.
Yeap, I own more than 20 different types of odor. Each of them whether from Body Shop, L'Occitane or Versace, Chanel, Lancome, Dior...they are parts of my life. It's about 3 of those that are presents from my mom and a friend. The rest..I bought it by my savings :(. Very costly! But it's ok! I can skip my meals for those. Haha!

Perfume is my first addiction and valuable asset. The second favorite of collecting is makeup tools. Since I decide to be a stylist, I would love to make my face look gorgeous before I use my hand to make others look extremely beautiful :D!

Big girls do Catwalk – My point of view about Beautiful body shape
My name is Ho Ny.
Skinny Trend (Started from 1990s)...
My confusion

.....and I am a 55kg girl. I'm short...so that means I am a fat girl....I had been diet for many months in order to achieve the perfect shape as those girls walking in Runway Shows.
Now I know....what I were doing....IS RIDICULOUS!
Last night, I read an article from L'Officiel. I gotta say: " Jezzz...I love this piece". Baey (2010) stated that: " Even real women have learned to be comfortable with their size"...however " runway clothes did not fit regular women".Oh! By the way, let me give you a hint of how beautiful body shape is defined...YOUR SIZE CANNOT EXCEED 4. Anything you wear which is bigger than 4, you are considered Big Size!
Skinny Trend (Started from 1990s)...
In 2009, Karl Lagerfeld emphasized with Focus magazine that no one would like to see those curvy women. He seemed to strongly oppose the idea of letting those "fatties" walk on his runway show (Akhtar, 2009).
As I mention above, you wear something bigger than size 4?!...you will never enter the Modeling Industry. Filippa Hamilton shared her sad story with Ralph Lauren in Today. Even though she has contributed to this famous brand so many things since she was 15, they straight away fired Hamilton because she did not fit in certain clothes - Hamilton said Ralph Lauren criticized "...because I was too large. I'm very sad about that". Note that, she was size 4 when they fired her. If you are a fan of Fashion, I bet you know this scandal. Ralph Lauren even edited her face in another skinny body for their advertisement.
Now...what the reason of choosing so skinny girls to be the model and to be the image of the brand? Hundreds people in the industry definitely says skinny girls look great in the photo or video - people tend to be fatter in the picture or video. AND...it's difficult to photograph fat people.
...VS Curvy Fashionista (In the 1960s - 1980s and ealier)
Have you ever wondered...why did Marilyn Monroe become the SEX BOMB back in the old days? I believe you will agree with me that she did not have the skinny body shape. In another word, she was round and had a little bit of fat....GOSH! Men have been craving for her...or somebody has that kind of shape.
Nowadays, a lot of fashion brand promotes plus size models since they start to realize the sense of reality and curvy should be added in Fashion Industry. Majority of women in UK are size 16 upward and in Singapore they are around size 10 (Baey,2010). Labels such as Louis Vuitton, Zara, Mango and Dolce & Gabbana even Chanel…are using plus size models to present their images. Scarlett Johansson (size 8), America Ferrera(size 12), Whitney Thomson are the emerge examples of successful plus size model.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOfMicMxGNM&feature=player_embedded#!My confusion
There is no doubt of my love and passion for art and fashion. To me, every kind of shape and every kind of color has it own beauty. I cannot say NO to any one of them. aZart is my first step as in the way of entering Fashion Industry. The objective is to gather all talented artists and create a new sense in Fashion. aZart is not only following the trends, but we will create the trend sooner or later. That's why at this moment...I'm getting confused with the idea of using perfect models VS normal models (normal looking persons) for our photo shoots!? In addition, should we do something abnormal or taking "something common and do something unusual with it"? - like what Elie Top has done with Lanvin.
I admit that....Sometimes, we are afraid of those nasty comments from the audiences. Nevertheless, if we keep working as this way, aZart will never have our own unique characteristics and it's hard for us to approach the clients. More importantly, once we go wrong way - go far away from our objective, is it easy to go back later?
I do NOT want people think that we are a group of talents who create the absoluteness of normal things.
